My senventy year old father just got rear ended at a red light in my 1987 from the south no rust spg. My father is OK....The car in the other hand is totaled!, I'm talking completely buckled rear quarters. The most ironinc part about it is that a person in another saab hit him, a 1999 900 or 93 to be axact. The girl sead that the car's antilock break system malfuntioned and she cloud not get the car to stop. After inspecting the damage it looks like she must have been traveling at least 20 to 30 mpg at the time of impact. The car did what it was supose to by crumpling up like that and possibly saving my fathers life. I can't believe I just got done completely restoring this car last summer, I'm talking new paint job, complete suspension system parts, rebuilt engine block and trani,I had personaly reupholsterd the entire interior. The car was just ball joints away from being completely perfect. Dam!
Sounds like it's time to look for another SPG.
Keep on saabing.
