Along with Berle's and MS's encouragements and info, I'll add the link to the Townsend Imports' site and a few more thoughts.
If you have an '87 or earlier 900 with the original pressure plate, you'll need a different pressure plate spacer tool than you'll need for the replacement pressure plate. The old-style pressure plate has a smaller center hole than the new-style one and the new-style spacer tool doesn't fit (BTDT). I found that some bare #6 ground wire works well if you can jam it in between the pressure plate fingers and the housing where the spacer tool would normally go. Push it in as far as it will go with a hammer and ratty, old screwdriver.
If it's a Turbo, you'll have to bend and twist the plastic cover to get it past the PCV hose to the turbo ducting.
An easier way to get the primary shaft out is on the Townsend site. "Remove the spring clip at the end of the clutch shaft cover and extract the cover. Tool Technique: Use a 15/16 shallow socket and a long 8 mm x 1.25 bolt. Put the socket end over the gear the clutch shaft resides in and stick the 8 mm bolt with large washer (or thick set of washers)through the center of the socket to use as a clutch shaft puller. Note: you must remove the plastic end bushing ("propeller") to screw the tool 8 mm bolt into the clutch shaft."
You'll definitely want to replace the pilot bearing. It's the source of a lot of shifting ills.
The key is to not get discouraged. And, I hate to mention it, have a relatively warm, decently-lit place that you can let the car set for a while when the going seems to be getting a little tough.
And, whenever you have questions during the process, post a question up here and someone will be here to guide you along.
