the advantage with the 8v is the solid lifters,you can get more power.even more than a 16v.it will not be as easy as the turbo cars though.if you have a five speed you can change the chain drive gear ratio with one from a 4 speed,you will need to research that a bit.i think MSS makes performence cams for that engine and headers. and you could look into some pistons to increase the compresion ratio and bigger valves.again MSS may have that.there are also mods on the cis injection that can be made too.a simple and fun mod is a k@n cone filter,you will need the bottom section of a air flow meter from a 80,s era bmw 320i,its an aluminium casting that will bolt to the bottom of yours allowing the cone filter to be clamped on the intake tube that sticks out of it. many others things can be done,just not many people doing it.or,like the last poster said,you could put a 16v turbo engine in there,but thats another story.
