Hello, everyone. I've got a question for all of you that I'm hoping you can help me with. My 1990 Saab 900 Turbo has been acting slightly different the past several weeks, and I'm hoping I can find a cure for her blues. This problem is fairly difficult to describe, so please bear with me. When I'm accelerating at a decent pace (or attempting to, anyway) or going up an incline when the RPM is perhaps still a little low, I can depress the accelerator pedal and a "fluid rattle" comes from the engine. That's the best way I can think to describe it. Let's have a little phonics lesson right quick. Get your tongue moving at a high rate of speed inside your mouth, almost like you're trying to sound like an old diesel engine at idle or a well-versed Spaniard rolling his r's. Now add a little fluid/liquid sound to that. Yes, that sound is the one. I notice this especially when I'm going up an incline. I'm used to my turbo helping me up all of those hills without any problems, but here lately, that sound makes me worried. I can let off the accelerator pedal a bit and the sound will go away. The car slows down a little, the sound comes back, I let off the accelerator pedal a little more, and I'm almost stopped after going around that vicious circle very much. The more I depress the accelerator pedal, the worse the sound gets. There seems to be some loss of power over the last few weeks, as well. I don't have a clue where to start on this one, so any suggestions are very welcome. I realize this is very broad, vague, and confusing, so let me know if you have any questions or need clarification. I greatly appreciate any and all feedback. Thanks in advance. Drive safely, and KEEP ON SAABING!!!
