reading up on this, the upstream line (smallbore) allows vacuum inthe manifold to open the valve, allowing the vapors to go into the manifold thru the large bore pipe which being downstream has more vacuum i guess and sucks harder.
this is on the LH 2.2 only.
LH 2.4 and 2.4.2 had an electric system, probably only one pipe to manifold.

i will be ordering the part from the dealer (along with a new bushing). $11 plus a 2 week wait from Sweden...
