On the pressure plate outer circumference are three "cut-out" areas where the finger springs are connected to the main spring unit which keeps them taunt against the clutch disc while driving. If you insert a pry bar of some heft (like a crow bar) in that point you can easily pry back one third of a section of finger springs to enable a large spacer (wire, whatever) to be inserted where the standard spacer tool goes. Then you rotate the flywheel until the next third becomes accessable and do the same. One more rotation and the job is done.
