I have finally given up on my trusty servant of 11 years and 125k miles(and a prior owner's servant for 6 years and an additional 82k miles). The repair bills are getting too high, a terminal case of rust is present, and with a wedding and home improvement to pay for, I can't afford to keep it running any more.

I just sold my ailing 1987 900 base model to the local repair shop for a pittance. I hope they fix it up and can resell it so it will continue to live, but I pass it on with a tear in my eye.

Thanks for the trips up and down to college and law school and the countless road trips all over creation. Thanks for the sturdy and stable winter driving. Thanks for hauling anything and everything without complaint -- music equipment, $800 Ikea trips, a bazillion bags of mulch and other gardening supplies, christmas trees, beer kegs, furniture, you name it. Thanks for putting up with terrible shifting habits from me. Thanks for never breaking down, EVER. Thanks for the one-hour stop-and-go-traffic commutes, the late night snack and beer runs. Thanks for suriving the fender bender where I wasn't paying attention and ran into someone else. Thanks for tolerating DC and Baltimore roads with little more than a few squeaks and rattles. Thanks for carrying my folks whenever they came to town to visit. Thanks for putting up with college student neglect with nary a mind. Thanks for running weekend errands on sunny days with the windows down.

Most importantly, thanks for doing all of the above with style, class, a beautiful burbly exhaust note, and a unique sense of presence I will never find in any other car.

A trusted family member for 1/3 of my life, my C900 is passing from me. Long live my C900!
