If I understand you - the line broke where the braided section attaches to the metal tubing. One way to get it back in operation is to cut off the braided section entirely, making sure there's two clean cut sections. Then purchase the shortest amount of flexible 1/4 o.d. copper tubing you can find, plus two 1/4 brass compression couplings. Then measure the distance you need to fill the gap in the line, cut the copper tubing to size less a half inch to accomodate the couplings, then connect it all together and splice in place. The secret to slipping couplings over the tubing is if the tubing has retained it's roundness after cutting. A small pipe/tubing cutter is best, not a hack saw. You'll know if the fittings are sufficiently tightened once you have pressure back in the line. Fluid leaking means tighten the couplings some more. The only difference you'll notice with that splice once the clutch is working again is increased engine noise. The flexible rubber piece helps dampen that sound whereas an all metal clutch line transmits engine and tranny sounds directly to the interior.
