I had the kit from autorust.com installed to fix the front end rot that is endemic to the C900.
The right side got so bad two years ago that I couldn't pass isnpection. I had a mediocre job done on the spot (not by my regular mechanic), and it's lasted.
This year (march) my regular mechanic told me that theeft (driver) side was in dire shape, and the ONLY way he would pass me with the understanding that I wuld get the problem fixed immediately. He asked a guy who does marine welding to take a look at it, and the guy REFUSED, saying that the rot was too far along.
About the same time, I read here in TSN about the patch kit from autorust.com to fix the problem. I called tehm explained that I needed the driver's side, instead of they passenger side, and they said that they would fabricate one for the same price.
I had them send the kit to my mechanic in Nshua, NH, and hsi welding guy, seeing how the two pieces fit and reinforced the frame, agreed to do it.
A little scheduling negotiation between the three of us (The welder worked in my mechanic's shop), and 6 hrs total labor, and it's done.
It's been over 1K miles (including a trip over the famous Kancamagus highway), and the difference is remarkable. Definite stiffening of the front end, no more wobbling, or 'dancing' (especially in cross-winds) when cruising up the interstate.
Plus, it passes inspection. ;-)

If you've go the same problem, it's well worth it to get a little/lot more life out of your C900.

TINAR, YMMV, etc. I'm just a happy customer, happy to be able to keep my C900 for a few more years.
Now, if I could jus fix that headliner....... ;-)
