If keeping the car on the road is a priority, you can completely disregard that throttle coolant channel by plugging both of the openings where the original throttle piece once connected to the heater/coolant system. One is connected to the metal tube that runs to the front of the cylinder head and the other is connected to the heater hose attached to the block fitting below the intake manifold between cyl's 1 & 2. For plugs I used male threaded plugs for either gas or water pipe, the threads wrapped with black electric tape before inserting in the opened hose end. I think I'm using 3/8" plugs. Hose clamps take care of the leak free seal over top of the plug. If the opened hoses are decayed or cracked and won't seal around the plugs, you can cut them back with a razor to access good hose. You need not worry about the opened throttle ports where the coolant once passed.
