Thanks to all who responded.

Re Kevin's stolen mirror, RS's stolen center caps (as well as mine), let's face it, we have unique cars. If people take parts off them, it's because they need them for their cars. Which is why I am so disgusted. One would think we are a brotherhood of sorts...guess not...which brings me to:

A side story again on being *really* ripped off. You may read this and think it's too incredible to be true. It is, but even now I am still in shock.

When I was in college 20+ years ago, I owned a much beloved 1967 MGB. Left said B parked on a slightly inclined parking spot one Spring Break - the spot was inclined on the side of a hill - think banked turn - so the driver's side was lower than the passenger side.

I come back to school after break, start my car up and drive off. According to my gas gauge, I'm low on fuel. Go into a gas station, start filling up. Within about a minute gas is *gushing* out of the right side of the fuel tank (rear of the car).

Yikes!! I'm going to die. My car is going to explode!

I stuff some rags into this *gaping* hole in the side of the tank. There is a British Leyland dealer about a mile away, I'm thinking. The exhaust is on the other side of the car. Maybe I can make it. I get there, car does not blow up on the way, and long story short, the mechanic tells me it's pretty clear someone *stole the fuel level sending unit* off my car; it's mounted in a hole on the right side of the tank, no way the gasket could have rotted and it fell in, the unit is bigger than the hole. Since it was parked on the incline, sending unit side up, if you will, it was easy pickings for someone who needed one for their MGB.

Can you believe it? Even to this day I cannot. I am still stunned, it's surreal. Someone stole my sender out of the gas tank!! People will stoop to the lowest lows, it makes me sick to think about it.
