Given the difficulty working with the hard plastic line, I would not try to patch in hard line, but rather use a section of high pressure flexible fuel hose over the hardline. You can then cut the line past the kink and at the end of the nipple on the banjo filter attachment.

To serve as support for a hose clamp insert a stub of metal tubing into the end of the hardline. Then clamp the high pressure fuel hose over the hard line at the loose end and the banjo bolt end.

Fitting the hardline over the barbs is a royal pita. The A student would probably replace the whole fuel line, also a pita.
