Since the receiver drier (more than likely the source of the debris) is just downstream of the expansion valve, I don't know if any of that debris makes it's way past the valve, into the evaporator, on to the compressor and beyond to the condensor. You might be able to get away with replacing the drier, clean the expansion valve again and be done with it. But to do an entire system flush right, you'll have to take apart all the components and blow compressed air through each part, perhaps even flush with paint thinner first, then draw air in reverse to disolve all the thinner and remaining moisture. The compressor - if that were mine, I'd take it apart and clean it out good. You'll nee a special tool to remove the pulley/clutch assembly. You can also make one if you are so inclined and have basic power tools. I'm sure I've posted about making that tool.
