Console removal. DUH!

How many cars have broken tabs on the lower console? Plenty, based on recent junkyard research. To remove the lower console ('91 SPG) it's a real PITA, unless you unbolt the shifter console to provide clearance. Of course the tabs are broken on my car, as previous "installers" did not figure this out. My car has an Alpine CD/tuner (with robust 4x20 watt equalizer mounted in lower DIN) and formerly had an alarm. I found the 3 alarm modules behind the lower console, and all the wiring was still there. Lots of splices. Spliced into ignition and electric window wiring. Old power wire ended near battery, and wiring into driver door. Removed the useless crap and reattached the splices. The stereo wiring is another wonderful splice job. This summer my goal is to transplant the stereo from my departed '84 (and clean up the wiring) and put separates in the doors. And do the headliner. And restitch the seats. And fix the seat heaters. And find that squeak...
