one major difficulty I have encountered with the search function is not being able to use the "+" or "-" of most common search engines. Then words not necessarily next to each other would have to both exist to be found. This would allow significant improvement in finding exactly what you are looking for, and would allow you to filter out the irrelevant posts. When things are posted again and again, a lot of messages pile up, meaning that if it is not what you are looking for, you have to wade through 200 messages sometimes to find the 5 that are relevant.

I am sorry to not provide a specific example here, but it has happened quite a few times recently, with no way (I could think of) to narrow my search.
