I did this on my 88 spg about 3 years ago, so I can't really remember ( great help right). But on my car it's located above your left knee when sitting in the drivers seat. You have to peel down the knee bolster to access it. There is an adjustment screw on mine which is hard as hell to get to, so I did what I read on this board, and that is join the 2 wires that are plugged into this unit. This will bypass it altogther. Do a search on this and the performance board. I may have left out something. If you have a bentley manual, it shows what it looks like.
