the o2 sensor was replaced no longer then 2 years ago, but as for the other things you mentioned they could be a possibility.
the smoke is not black but more bluish/white. its not burning coolant though so where this smoke is coming from is a real mystery. I have'nt checked the tranny oil and I just thought since it holds so much I wouldnt notice. could the auto trans fluid end up being burned, is that possible on this setup (engine over trans)
as for the pressure regulator, would you smell gas or get gas in unusual places, i have been through most of the vac hoses and they are dry.
