I get mass boost in all gears, boost is created as a result of the load and heat generated by your engine, however with slight and free modifications you can achieve higher boost than Saab planned for you. The trans is the weak link in the C900 though. I just put a recently rebuilt 5-spd in my 88 900T two days ago. Saabs require careful shifting habbits!
Tweak the APC (look it up)
Put a smaller oriface in the Wastegate Solenoid
(the business end of a windshield washer check valve works great for this)
Shorten wastegate rod (not too much)
Use Redline MTL or equivalent in tranny
Make sure the shift linkage is adjusted right, less grindage
A solid front motor mount made my shifts much more accurate, but way more vibration (I like it though)
I'm just rambling now...thats all.
