i finally got a sign of why my 92t is smoking like mad. the exhaust port has oil dripping out of it and its burning up. now, what do i do? can you buy a rebuild kit, is this just a inner gasket or are the bearings worn also? the turbo itself seems rather smooth without and bearing noise so I would think its ok. could a leaking turbo have any effect in driving as in hiccups or is that related to something else? ironically even though its leaking oil my dipstick still shows max....how?
if anybody has been in this situation shed some light on what course i should take. i have seen posted about buying used turbos from junkyards, etc for $300 or so....a simple way to go?
also, with this leaking oil thats burning could the o2 sensor be shot and/or the cat? if the o2 is coated with burnt oil that could explain the hiccups on boost. it actually idles perfectly.
unrelated...i have a new battery and alt and yet the battery keep dying, so something is drawing power out...any ideas on that one because its a real mystery.
