Can anyone verify that the print at SAABMASTER in the 'electrical diagrams
1990' section would apply to a '91?
It seems as if it might, but my voltage/resistance measurements suggest that there might be something different. (Like before I found the print, I didn't know the car had FRONT backup lights!) Also, the fuseholder is labeled 'cigarette/backup', but the print doesn't show the lighter.
The problem is simply that the lights won't burn; I don't know if they ever worked, as backup lights are not a checkpoint in the NC inspection,
unlike the MA one, where the car now lives!
I've shot the 'bad LH taillight cluster ground' bug previously, and my fix is still good. I tried an experiment where, with the parking lights on, I jumpered from hot side of tail bulb to hot side of backup bulb. I got a small spark and dimmer tail light, indicating short-to-ground but I havn't been able to find it. (During this attempt, I still didn't know about the front lights, which was skewing my observations. A bulb reads almost no resistance to the casual observer!!)
So, before digging in again, I seek some assistance from the cognoscenti of the Saab World..
Regards,
CD
