I was told by my Saab tech not to re-use head bolts. They are "torque to yield" and are designed to stretch a little when you tighten them up. As for proper torque, he told me to lightly oil the bolts and they should be fine going in. When I put my head on a few months ago, I did not clean the threads in the head--didn't have any problems...
