Go for it. Only 2% of the people in the world will ever Solo in an aircraft. Even less have got their license. I don’t know how it works in Canada but in the US the recreational pilot's license has restrictions on where and what you can fly (no class B airspace for a start, also not sure if you can fly to the US). It is not a whole lot more to get your PPL. Then you can go anywhere your plane can take you (well TFR and ATC permitting). Also if you really find you love it with the recreational pilot's license you would then need to get your PPL before getting more advanced ratings (Inst, Multi engine and so on). That being said even if you are going to fly an ultra light it is the most fun you can have with close on. Oh yah and women Dig Pilots!!! They love to Fly… Good Luck and GO FOR IT!!!
