Mine was the Rad too, similar symptoms ... the engine ran hot at high loads/low speeds even with the fans on ... did the fan switch, thermostat first to be sure.
My water pump bearing failed right after which I gather is pretty common with new coolant. I did all the hoses/belts at the same time as the pump. The ones on the back of the water pump are a real pain!
