Thanks much but I,m not very clear about your suggested procedure. Should I loosen ( but not remove ) the pressure plate bolts first and then pry? Am I supposed to be prying in between the flywheel and the pressure plate to push them apart and compress the fingers against the end of the slave cylinder? Is there any risk to the flywheel with this prying action? Also where/how do I use the sockets as spacers? Sorry to sound dense here. I definately like the idea of not having to cut the slave cylinder out. If the clutch disk has gotten soaked with fluid from this leak I assune that it's toast...... would it be worth rebuilding the slave? I know the rebuild kit is a bargain compared to the cylinder but since I don't know why it failed I'm unsure whether it wouldn't just go bad again in short order...I really don't want to have to do this job a third time.
Thanks again for your help.
