Factory CD/EQ Posted by Ken [Email] (#2113) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Ken) on Sat, 13 Nov 2004 09:31:46 In Reply to: Bulbs and Tunes, Tim, Fri, 12 Nov 2004 15:12:04 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Silly me. I thought all 94 C900s came with the CD/Equalizer. Anyhow, on the back of the cage holdingthe radio there are 3 DIN connections labeled with red, yellow and blue tape. Th e"blue" cable connects to the rear amp. The red and yellow cables connect to the CD/EQ in the lower consloe. Many have opted to remove the CD/EQ and install a shorting plug, which fools the radio into thinking the CE/EQ is still there. Because if the radio thinks it is gone, it goes into anti-theft "code."
So pull the radio and cage and see if you have the red/yellow cable pair. They are zip-tied together and are Saab part # 40 83 168. The Bentley manual shows all this cabling and CE/EQ as the only radio option for 92 and later (?) Although the Turbo head unit differs from the S unit because it has a weather band. Big deal.
Good luck!
