Sorry to inform you, but the brakes on your '86 SPG are not nearly as good as the brakes on your (former?) '88 and '89 SPGs. In fact, I have retrofitted both my '85 and '86 900 cars to the '88-'89 brakes. It is not as simple as swapping calipers, however: you must change the knuckles, hubs, CV boots, calipers, rotors, pads, wheels, rear axle and hubs, rear calipers, pads, rotors...and you still won't have an emergency/parking brake (requires welding and cutting...I even did this on my '85).
ABS started in 1990 on US market 900 models. They do share the same calipers as '88-'89 models.
Good luck with the '86 SPG (and be sure to leave an extra car length in front of you!)
