Honda MTF to Redline....problem? Posted by JustinHiFi [Email] (#829) [Profile/Gallery] (more from JustinHiFi) on Wed, 24 Nov 2004 23:25:09 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Time for another tranny fluid flush in the 91 900 LPT 5spd. Since I have owned the car, I used only M1 1030 in the tranny. Last time I got four free quarts of MTF from a honda friend, heard many good reviews on it, used it. Now, I was given 2 quarts of Redline Full Synthetic motor oil 1030...I went ahead and bought another two.
I know it is bad switching from gear lube to motor oil. Will the swap from Honda MTF (what is this classified as?) to the Redline (which I figure is not a gear lube)?
Heard from one friend that if the tranny is not been 'nursed' from the start with Redline, im looking at a much shorter life...Figured I would shoot the question before i do it on Friday...
Thanks...
