The Mb Quart separates that I have do an awesome job of keeping the music loud and clear up to more volume than I ever need. Sorry, did you say something? I just put bass blockers on the rears, and put in a Sony 75x4 amp on the back of the rear seat to power the fronts with it crossed over to block frequencies below 100hz. Once you have a decent quality head unit-preferably not any Wal-mart brand, JVC, audiotek, or any similar one that comes in a clear plastic box- the majority of sound quality comes from the amp keeping the signal clean, and the speakers being able to reproduce it faithfully. I have played with the idea of sinking a ten inch sub in a sealed box into the floor on the side opposite the spare, as there is just about enough room there for a small enclosure. In a convertible I would say that would be the only way to go.
