Right - it depends on where you live and the conditions Posted by RS [Email] (#15) [Profile/Gallery] (more from RS) on Wed, 8 Dec 2004 05:57:52 In Reply to: Well, yes but >, ChipJ, Wed, 8 Dec 2004 05:09:48 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Back in Central New York, winter blades were a lifesaver for me, for just those reasons - avoiding ice collecting in the frames while driving.
Sometimes the amount of snow that came down while driving, coupled with the right amount of liquid water on the windshield, would ice the frames up and the wipers would lose contact - right at the worst spot in the windshield. And the last thing you want to do is open your door to try to get the ice out of the wiper when you're at a stoplight in a frigid, slushy intersection. (It makes my feet wet and gives me a fever just thinking about it.)
Nothing is perfect, but winter blades are a good compromise for those conditions. And you change them back to normal blades with winter is over.
