My son will load up his friends & snowboarding gear, & I use mine for landscaping, furniture, recycling, etc. The parcel shelf needs to be removable, & I think a sub would get in the way. I've also heard that stuffing one or two mini speakers into the center of a larger speaker (typical 2-way/3-way design) really kills any chance of generating decent sound from the larger speaker. Any experience or ideas about this?
The salesman did say that the RMS rating of my son's new Panasonic was only about 16 watts. Without an external amp, will I be throwing money away on the Infinities? I have no idea what it is for the OE Clarion in my car, so maybe using the matched set of speakers I have (see reply to baggsly) isn't such a bad idea.
Thanks for the suggestions.
