Hi, I think I may be using the wrong term for the clip... the wire actually pulls the ends together squeezing the clip down into the recess where it is supposed to be in. I dont think I can put a new clip in place without dismantling the transmission... something I dont want to have to do. It appears to be all original and correct, just that the clip has somewhat stretched and is now kind of "wollered out", meaning the profile of the clip is no longer flat, but kind of... cupped a bit. Obviously has worn and stretched over time. I got to thinking about the rotating mass of the splined part if I put a blob of JBWeld making it unbalanced but the circlip itself is also unbalanced having the end that is split and has the holes to spread it apart. Maybe I am thinking into this one too much and should just attempt the weld or other and see how it goes. I just dont want this thing giving way again... I have a 2000+ mile trip to take here in the next couple of weeks. Any other ideas would be appreciated. Thanks, Brian
