That slow sinking someday will turn to a quick drop to the floor and some fancy downshifting....hope you are wearing brown pants that day. The rebuild worked fine for me. The Saab master cylinder is a steel tube with some rubber seals. The slow drop is actually a good sign that your seals are gradually wearing. If you lost them quickly, it could be from burrs or something sharp cutting the seals in the cylinder. Common sense will tell you that moving a rubber item over a steel item, the rubber will wear first. When I rebuilt my cylinder, it was completely clean and smooth, no scratches, no bores, no sharp spots. Just be sure to lube all parts with clean brake fluid and follow the directions in the kit. The seals in a rebuild kit are just as good as the seals in a new cylinder. The reason master cylinders are not popular among rebuilders is 1) liabilities 2) just too much variety these days. In older times many mfgrs used 1 MC for their entire line. Now a different MC for each model
