Part of the answer depends on how it was stored and what part of the country. If outside in the heat of Pheonix, AZ (even if covered) expect rubber bits and seal issues, plus bad gas, but if in San Diego County where the weather doesn't change for the most part, then you might have less problems. If stored in a climate controlled garage - good, if under a car port in woodsy Oregon where it rains a lot - bad. As others have mentioned, internal engine rust is a major potential problem, especially if it was stored in a wet climate region. If kept in a dry or climate controlled setting, but the owner didn't do the things necessary for long term non-use, I'm sure there are step by step inspections and things you can do before starting the car up and not risk engine damage. A complete fluid flush and change is one crucial step if it was never started or driven in all this time. Rats, mice and squirrels like building nests under the hoods of abandoned cars, so there might be elec wiring issues.
