I have a '93 900, only one key. Getting a duplicate has been on my "to do" list but....yes, I am kicking myself now.
So today, the only key I have broke in the ignition! I was able to retrieve the broken part, but that still leaves me keyless. No big deal, I figure the dealer can make me a new one with the VIN #. They made me one, but it doesn't work (goes in & I can run accessories, but won't start the car or work the locks.)
They're going to keep trying until they get it right. Is this usually a tricky thing to do?
I'd pulled the car out of my driveway, left it for a bit, & went back to start it. Problem is, it's sitting in the street, and my driveway is a hill so it's going to be a bear to get it off the street.
I've taken the stereo faceplate off and cleaned it out so as to be less attractive to Bad Persons, but haven't locked it up completely yet.
Luckily it's not my only vehicle, but I really don't want to leave it on the street, since I live in the 'hood.

So my questions are,
What is the worst case scenario?
Is there a clever way to hotwire the car, if I can't get a working key by the weekend?
