Greetings,
Asking that question here is tricky. You're guarnteed a loaded response. We love Saabs. We are fanatics (for the most part). Saabs are the best cars I've ever owned. Your reasons for wanting to own one are the same as ours. Repairs are hit and miss, just as with any used auto. If you get one from a Saab fanatic (meant positively), it's likely to have been well taken care of. If you buy one from Joe Whoever that has little concept or appreciation for Saabs, you may get one that hasn't been cared for as well. For the right car, repair costs are worth it. They do require a Saab specialist to service and they can be more expensive to repair. But the right one will be worth every penny and they are as reliable as any (when well maintained). They are also the safest cars known to man as anyone who's been in an accident will tell you. My last one did exactly that a month ago - saved me & my passenger. I say go for it if you're prepared to cherish your vehicle and leave the "just another car" philosophy behind. Best wishes,
Alex
