Help identifying a 900

Many years ago a friend of mine had a Saab 900 of some sort.
It's been a long time since I saw him or it though, so I no longer know exactly which one it was.
So I'm hoping someone here will be able to help me figure out what year and such it was.
It was a silver (light silver, not blue-grey) 4 door sedan, it had a 16v engine and I'm pretty sure it was a turbo variant. It was NOT an SPG.
It had a burgendy interior which the owner said was eather custom or simply pulled from another Saab. It also had power windows, a power radio antenna and a manual transmission.
As far as I know it was pretty much stock (except for the confusion about the interior)
Does anyone know enough about year differances to tell me what car this would be?
I can answer other questions if I can remember the answers.

Can anyone tell that I Really liked that car?
