More caster will give more centering, more camber will give you increase grip during cornering.

2 degrees positive doesn't sound right. Camber has much less of an effect on tire wear than improper toe. If your tires' outer edges are wearing really fast, then you probably have way too much toe-in and/or you have an agressive cornering style.

Adding shims is not a walk in the park, but it's not hell, either (the driver's side rear, lower bolt is toughest, okay kind of a PITA, followed by the pass. side rear lower, IME). If you've worked on, say, a Saab alternator, I'd say you'd be game for it. You need a pry bar to push the arm forward when sliding in more shims. Tape the shims with masking tape to keep them together. When you push the arm in to insert shims, be careful to keep the existing shims in place.

About 4-5mm of shims will make your alignment more negative by 1 about degree. If you put the same amount of shims behind the front brackets as you do the rear ones, you will preserve the caster. "Harvest" the shims from the junkyard; pull them off dead Saabs on the passenger side -- it's easier. On the driver's side, just get the front stack; leave the rear stack for the desperate or the crusher.

Whatever shims you put in will change the toe (increase toe in). If you don't want to deal with a DIY toe alignment, and you don't want to deal with paying a pro shop to install the shims, then consider doing the shims yourself and having a shop set the toe.

I've messed with alignments on c900s a number of times now; you're really not going to mess things up unless you change the toe. Improper toe kills tires fast. Don't worry about camber too much -- with over 2 degrees negative camber (with an agressive driving style), I have gotten even wear across the tread. This is with a number of sets of tires on two different cars.

Do yourself a favor and search "diy alignment" here for more information.
