Help with crank & H2O pulleys (Anders?)

Advice for pulley issues, please?
I've got a Scantech crank pulley that's dying -- fewer than 50K on it. Got a new-ish water pump on the car, too, fewer than 10K.
Q1: Are my expectations for Scantech longevity unrealistic? I mean, come on, 50K and the thing is squealing like a pig at slaughter?? Anders, do you install Scantech or OEM in your customers' cars?
The other thing is that my serial-number-matched Conti belts aren't anywhere near equally tensioned; it's as if the two pulley grooves have different diameters.
Q2: When I replaced the water pump (good German one), I noticed that the pulley shimmied pretty badly (I assumed this is what caused the prior one to die), so I grabbed another one and threw it on. Now it, too, shimmies. I'm having a tough time understanding how the crank pulley might be causing the water pump pulley to shimmy, but...could it be? Or do I have a bad water pump (again)?
