If this suddenly started happening out of the blue, I would suspect the Cruise Control relay (behind the knee bolster, next to the CC Electronic Control Unit).
Did you by chance replace your turn signal stalk? If so, you have to make some wiring conversions as the turn signal stalk that was original on your car is no longer available, and the '89-on part is sold as the replacement. The superseding part is not the same, and the relay mentioned above has to be omitted and bypassed. The details are all in Bentley.
