I like amsoil because it helps to save the older style pinion bearings. The good thing about the weight is bearing protection. The downside is it's thicker and takes longer for the synchros to squeeze out before they can grip the gear. That means longer shifting time. On cold mornings, I usually shift from first to third when pulling away from the house.
