I think my APC Box is Toast.

1983 8v Turbo.

No power to the APC solenoid with ignition on, so I dug out the APC box under the back seat. Cleaned off significant corrosion from the connectors, ran the Bentley tests. Resistance on the APC pressure sensor is fine at 10 ohms. I didn't get much voltage from the knock sensor with my digital meter, but I don't think that would cause lack of power to the solenoid.

The APC box is getting power, but it's not sending any juice out on the big yellow/white wire that goes to the solenoid. I opened up the box and there was lots of corrosion in there, some of the parts look damaged (there are several cubical components that look like about a hundred foil plates put together, 2 of them have 'exploded' out of their original configuration...almost like they've gotten wet, frozen, and expanded.) What a mess. Cleaned it up with electrical contact cleaner and a VERY soft brass brush. Still no go.

So, could a bad knock sensor prevent the box from sending current to the solenoid?

What are the good sources for new boxes?
