I don't think it would work, I tried running the newer style gauges in my spg with my speedometer swapped into it because the speedo cables are different, but it wouldn't work, the directional indicators didn't work, and the lights didn't work properly, I think the plugs, or at pinout on the plugs is different on the newer ones, I'm not even sure if you could just get away with getting just that 3-gauge cluster in there. The other problem is, the 84 didn't have the ANTI LOCK warning light, nor did it have a check engine light, but thats on the tach side anyway. If I'm wrong, someone correct me, but I'm pretty sure it won't work. I mean, the boost gauge would work, but other things wouldn't. Unless you're talking about an external gauge, in which case, it would work fine.
