THe EGR valve was still listed in the SAAB EPC as of 2001 (87 88 721). I do not know of the legalities in your area or what-not, but Saab replaced the 91 91 462 ecu with the 43 00 083 unit (92-93 900T) in its parts system. The 083 unit has no ability to control an electronic EGR that your car (and my '91 SPG as well) is equipped with. Basically, mine was dead (wink) and I had to replace it with the later unit that I happened to have on hand. I removed all of it and put it in a box in the garage. It runs better, though I did find that I had a vacuum leak on the plate on the bottom of the intake manifold when I removed it. You will need, in addition to the ECU, a diamond shaped flat plate for the hole on the bottom of the intake (when you remove the valve itself) and a plug for the exhaust manifold (where the EGR system sourced the exhaust in the first place).
