I think it's the best year model. There are some faults in that yr and of course it was the 1st yr for the SPG. In the end I'm going to own my current 85 plus a true 85 SPG. I want a red one which I have and a Black one. The best thing to do is find one without any rust. Sounds like you did. I find it hard, knowing the weaknesses of the 85, not to update or upgrade those parts. Wires and brakes. I have rerun more wire then I'd like to say. And once you get the HP, the very next thing to do is the brakes. Wow do they get soft. Anyway, I have repainted it, replaced all kinds of parts panels extras and so on.
