synthetic oil develops leaks? possibly

This phenomenon occurs from the cleansing action of synthetic oils. It can clean off sludge build-ups and varnishes that were acting as the last line of defense against a weak seal. The sludge or varnish acts as a labyrinth seal (and they say that stuff is no good for your engine). It does not destroy seals. If the engine is clean and not leaking, sythetics won't "cause" any leaks. I firmly beleiv that if you are not going to use extended drain intervals, then there may be a question as to the extra expense of synthetics. Amsoil has preached of longer drain intervals for many years (with many skeptics)only to have Mobil quilify this by releasing oils with extended drain intervals.( I can just see the Mobil execs cringing now)
The choice is yours.
I beleive quality fluids (Amsoil, Zerex Go5 antifreeze)translate to longer vehicle life, but I could get hit by a bus tomorrow.
