Convertible top pump - voltage Posted by Saabpilot [Email] (#134) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Saabpilot) on Sun, 27 Mar 2005 14:48:58 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Today out of the blue my convertible top pump stopped operating when it was halfway through a cycle (putting the top down).
Fuses are all good including the 25 amp top fuse on the right side inner fender in the engine compartment. I used a volt meter and at the red and black wires from the top motor to the top relays I am seeing positive and negative .016 volts respectively when the top switch is in the raise or lowser position.
I'm assuming I should be seeing 12 volts at these terminals? I'm assuming the motor is a 12 volt motor. I am about to hook up 12 volts directly to the motor to test it but just want to see if anyone has any suggestions.
Each time I press the top button I do hear the relays clicking.
1987 900 turbo convertible.
Thanks.
