If your A/C system is empty (or close to), you have a leak, period.

It is no use to fool around with all this magical blends and R12 subsitutes that's are availablle and no reason to use R12 anymore since R134a is working just great when properly converted.

Find the leak (most likely the A/C dual manifold hose) and repair/replace and convert the system over to R134a.

After that it is way more easier to find shops that can help you if the car develops a leak in the future since the standard on all cars nowadays is R134a.
