Mileage measurements: Drive train or driver's seat? Congrats on the longevity, RG, I hope you have many many more trouble-free miles. I miss the hi-mile list, too, but your account of drive-train transplant to new body raises the question of what constitutes a continuous run. That is, is a car that has relied on original drive-train (engine + tranny) for 300k mi as "durable" as one that had the tranny replaced at 150k? To extend to absurdity, what if you've replaced all components except light switch, do you still register miles on the original car (part)?
IMHO I think the ultimate measure of longevity/durability is drivetrain, but structural integrity of body/interior/support systems has to factor in somewhere. Maybe the hi-mile list suffered an honorable and yet deserved demise because of those issues?
