You'll only see the benefit if you are going to use modified APC (higher turbo boost). Then you run into the next 'hurdle'. So you get bigger injector. Then you want to make it go even faster. So you reprogram ECU (fuel mapping). Then 3 bar isn't optimal, so you get a Rising Rate Fuel Pressure Regulator. Then, you realize that you got too much back pressure, so you install three inch straight pipe your exhaust. Off course, then you don't have enough air coming in, so you install open air K&N type air filter. Then the bigger turbo, until you get a 250 - 300 hp monster. All is good until you break the transmission or blow a head gasket. Now while the engine/tranny is out, you decide to beef up the tranny and port the head, change the cam, etc.

See what the 3 bar FPR started? (It may not be in that order, but you get the picture. 3 bar FPR with APC mod usually is the start of the mod process. I have it in my '90 SPG with manual boost control to 21 psi and 2.5 inch straight exhaust with 30 lbs fuel injectors.) I just installed the stage 2 APC yesterday and will be installing the 3 bar FPR in my '88 Spring Time look-alike convertible. Now I have BOOOOST. I'll have more tonight. More boost = bigger smile :)
