You can sweat together a "U-fitting" from copper pipe fittings to bypass the heater valve. IIRC, I found a single-piece U-fitting at a plumbing supply shop that fit.
However, if you want heat at some point, you'll need to replace the heater valve. You don't have to remove the heater core but, depending on who you talk to, you will want to either:
- go in through the speaker hole (requires some flexible drivers, long, skinny, double-jointed arms, and way more dexterity than this writer can muster.)
- Remove the lower dash (and console, etc) to access the heater valve.
